Chinese textile enterprises industrial output and sales up 11% on the year (China)

Statistics show that China's textile industry continued to enhance its application of technology and brand contribution in the first half of 2012，maintaining double-digit growths of production scale and sales scale, in face of unfavorable factors such as slowing demand at home and abroad, In the first half this year, Chinese textile enterprises above designated size achieved 11 percent growth of industrial output year on year, and 11 percent growth of industrial sales year on year.

At the same time, even though the overall operation of China's textile industry was in development range, the growth rates of its production, exports, domestic sales and profit fell faster. For example, in the first six months of this year,China's textile and apparel exports increased only 2.21 percent year on year, growth rate felll 23.19 percentage points compared to the same time last year.

An official from China Textile Industry Association said, under the severe situation at current time, China's textile industry should pay close attention to the following three questions in the second half of the year.

First,the industry should pay attention to textile export situation, analyze reasons for the decline in exports; Secondly, the industry should ensure stable development of the operation of front-end industries, because cotton spinning,chemical fiber industries have great influence on overall operation of textile indicators; Finally, the industry should pay close attention to development imbalance among industries, regions, enterprises.
